Assessing fertility

If you have been having unprotected sex for over a year and have not fallen pregnant it is a good idea to have a check-up. This can be done after 6 months if you are over 35. We will assess your reproductive health and conduct tests on both you and your partner (or donor) to determine if there are any underlying issues causing pregnancy delay.

For women fertility tests include:

=

Blood tests and ultrasounds to identify any specific issues and check ovulation is occuring

An egg count test – a blood test that measures the level of AMH (anti-Mullerian Hormone) and indicates your ovarian reserve

For men, a semen analysis is conducted to measure:

=

The number of sperm

=

Their ability to move (motility)

=

Their size and shape (morphology)

=

The volume and consistency of the sperm
